Nike Air Flight 89 “Black Suede”

This Air Flight 89 has a new, remake look.  Hangtime sells this shoe at the estimated price range between 13,800Yen-15,800Yen.

The shoe upper is in black suede. The other parts of the sneaker are in black leather. The Nike swoosh is a light colored black. The shoe has details in the number of panels. For example, the outline boundary just below the swoosh is a strip of black leather. It looks good as an accent that blends in while showing the detail of the shoe.

As the shoe is all black, the designer has included a very subtle touch of color and function. Light blue reflective strips are added to cross the shoe upper in a naturally flowing line. It resembles the flow of a trickle of water.

Users can expect to take flight with this shoe’s advance technology. The air cushion is exposed and you can peek at it at the side of the upper sole.

I like the suede in the shoe. It helps to add a nice looking touch to a sneaker. I would recommend this shoe for all purposes. Due to its classic color and design, it can be worn for a variety of formal and casual occasions.

Nike Air Jordan Force XII Fusion - White-Black-Taxi
Nike Air Jordan Force XII Fusion

A few days ago, we wrote about the Playoffs Edition of these shoes, now we have the first colorway of the Nike Air Jordan Force XII Fusion available - White-Black-Taxi.

These are set to officially drop on next week, but you can get them right now at some select shops as well as on eBay. They are running about $145-$165 a pair. These kicks are a fusion between an Air Force 1 and the Air Jordan XII.

The texture black leather on the toe and stark white leather throughout combine for a nice looking shoe.

Visvim and Gallery 1950 Collaboration

gallery1950.jpg

The art and design purveyor Gallery 1950 has brought a unique vision to collaborations over the past few years. Gallery 1950 has teamed with Visvim to create a unique set of Logan Lows. These vibrant Logan Lows will hit the market late winter/early spring 2008 just in time for warmer weather.

Beginning in the lower left corner of the picture above, you see a simple black Logan Low with red laces that is conservative enough for most sneaker fans. The blue/black Logan Lows up the ante for customs lovers who want a little bit of flavor. The best product of the Visvim/Gallery 1950 is the blue/yellow/green/red colorway on the Logan Lows in the upper right part of the photo. These shoes represent the culmination of the perfect union between an elite shoe maker like Visvim and the upper echelon style of Gallery 1950.

Greedy Genius Lumberjack Pack
Greedy Genius Lumberjack Pack

Like many other shoe companies are doing this winter, Greedy Genius has recently released a Lumberjack Pack featuring colorful plaid that we see in flannel shirts worn by lumberjacks.

Greedy Genius took four of their popular models - Primo, Cool Breeze, Phantom and Paratrooper and dressed them up using different colors of plaid. These shoes combine leather, suede and even touches of snake embossed patent leather to create very interesting shoes.

The Primo version above dubbed “Roho” is my favorite in the pack. The low sneaker combines simple styling with the typical red plaid material. This shoe is available right now at Karmaloop for just $90.

Also in the pack is a red/black high Cool Breeze and the same shoe in grey as well. These shoes retail for about $120.

Another favorite in the pack is the low Phantom called “Blue Foot” which uses black snake embossed patent throughout the blue/white plaid shoe. This good looking sneaker is just $100 at Karmaloop.

You can find these and several other shoes from the Lumberjack Pack right now at Greedy Genius retailers.

Nike AF1 Charcoal/Zest

Nike AF1 Charcoal/Zest 1

2007 marks the 25th anniversary of Air Force One (AF1).  This shoe belongs to the new AF1 collection for 2008. It is available in Nike1Love.

This Charcol / Zest AF1 will be officially launched in a few days’ time, in Jan. 2008. It has a charcoal black shoe upper and a zest sole.  It imitates the iconic Air Max 95 by using similar colors and looks.

The toe box has perforations. The yellow mid-sole is a very good color as it forms a striking combination with the shoe’s color. I like the grey accents in the Nike swoosh and shoe laces.  There are line markers sewn into the shoe upper to show the different panels of the shoe. This is a feature of design that creates the interesting boundaries of the different panels.

The tongue is in bright yellow. It has a ring that the shoe lace can thread through. This is quite a surprise because in the  grey shoe laces, this yellow ring / band suddenly pops up for the shoe lace to pass through.

The grey Nike swoosh has yellow thread machined along its outline to accentuate the outline. The heel has a transparent patch where the air cushion is embedded. This is part of the well planned design to show the uniqueness of the Nike shoe.

Nike SB Zoom Air Abington

airabington.jpg

There aren’t a ton of details on the January 2008 release of the Zoom Air Abington, a part of the Nike SB collection set to hit stores at the beginning of the new year. The Zoom Air Abington balances suede and leather from toe to heel in a way that has become customary for Nike. The black/gray color combination creates an industrial feel that stands out from the rest of Nike’s running shoes. These simple design elements make the Zoom Air Abington a slam dunk.

You need to keep an eye on the Nike website as the calendar hits January to stay tuned for pricing and availability of the Zoom Air Abington. The Nike SB series should run between $80 and $100 and offer runners, workout warriors and casual sneaker fans a change from the usual athletic shoes.

Nike Air Max 95 St. Valentine
Nike Air Max 95 St. Valentine

Last week we told you about the Nike Court Force High St. Valentine’s Day, now here’s another Valentine’s shoe from Nike - the Nike Air Max 95 St. Valentine.

This white sneaker features hearts embossed all-over the shoe, along with red trim and a red heart on the tongue tag. The heart pattern throughout the shoes is so subtle that these shoes would be okay to wear anytime. If you are a fan of the AM 95, these are a nice option.

These shoes are available right now at Atmos for 16,800 (about $147 USD).

Nike Air Trainer SC - Dec. 2007.

Nike Air Trainer SC

This Nike Air Trainer SC is designed using very subtle colors. Basically, it is in black and white and shades of in-between. The greys are the shades of black. This sneaker will be available at Hangtime. The cost is around 12,000- 13,500 yen for one pair.
The toe box has premium leather that is perforated. The toe box has a striking covering of shiny, black leather. It has a strip of leather that runs down, vertical to the lengthwise of the shoe. There are two pairs of shoe lace thread-through holes. They are in orange. There are accents using leather in a darker shade of grey. These panels have machined stitches that provide a detailed pattern crossing over the dark grey accent. The stitches make the panel interesting. Both panels of dark grey leather have the elaborate machine stitching. I like the tongue which is made from a shiny, mesh-like material.

For this high cut shoe, there are two extra shoe lace holes right near the upper end of the tongue. It is a matter of user preference to thread the laces through these holes.

The entire shoe is perforated and this is a unique model. Usually, only certain panels are perforated while the other panels are made of different materials. I like the overall design.

Custom Nikes with Trees and Checkers

checker1.jpg

Stizo Custom Kicks has crafted a pair of Chinese-inspired shoes that stylish and well-designed. A gold/tan checker pattern is placed on the side of the shoe up to the top eyelets as a frame for the shoe’s tree design. The trees painted on the outside of both shoes run from the soles up to a deep burgundy pool that acts as a background for the laces.

While the overall design is exceptional, the execution of a fade from the top eyelet to the toe box is incredible. There are few custom artists who can turn a dark burgundy into a gray color in a matter of a few inches. The only problem I see with this shoe is that there are too many moving parts. Looking at the shoe as a whole, it is a beautiful mess with fantastic parts that don’t quite mesh.

Commonwealth/Ben G x DC Shoes Gatsby
Commonwealth/Ben G x DC Shoes Gatsby

The Virginia based streetwear store Commonweath and Amsterdam’s skateshop Ben G have teamed up with DC Shoes to each create their own version of the Gatsby model.

Commonweath decided to use a Maharam fabric, usually used in furniture. The black sneaker features a cream colored repeated pattern. The design is quite simple and somewhat drab. Ben G added some brightness and style in their version with the multi-colored rain pattern that is all over these kicks. Hot pink, green and yellow streak down these black uppers. There is also their cute yet odd dog logo seen inside.

Info and pictures via SF. No word on release date or price, but these are expected to be very limited.

Flesh Imp x Adidas Superstar
Flesh Imp x Adidas Superstar

Flesh Imp (a label out of Singapore) celebrated its 7th Anniversary in fashion, art, music and the urban lifestyle. To mark their anniversary and a new beginning, they have released a special Adidas collaboration Superstar “七” (7).

The interesting design incorporates a sword and an M16 rifle, depicting the fusion of old meets new. Adidas with its history and significance to urban culture is the old, while Flesh Imp represents the new - the M16 and it’s new wave of urban influences, combining Asian and Western ideas. Though the use of weapons is a little odd (but supposedly symbolizing never-ending commitment), the shoe isn’t half bad.

The black and white colorway is simple, yet the details are many, include the textured white toe and writing on the stripes. Via Hypebeast
