Air Jordan V Custom Dye Job
January 3, 2008

The original gray/pink colorway of the Air Jordan Vs shown above left much to be desired. How could arguably the greatest player in NBA history lend his name to a gray and pink monstrosity of this sort? One of these shoes has been spared the long fate of looking like a failed experiment by a generous customs designer.
The Air Jordan V is shown below entering a bath of blue dye. The final product is shown above with most of the gray covered in a royal blue color. You can see the pink interior remaining from the original shoes which looks far more natural with the blue than the gray. The dye is no substitute for a combination of spray and touch paint but the designer got the Air Jordan Vs for dirt cheap and a dyed blue is better than a natural gray any day.
