A designer named chrisbone123 at Nike Talk submitted these custom Air Jordan XIs for peer review recently. The default color on this pair was black/red with patent leather running around the toe box. The picture post immediately after this entry shows the beginning stages of chrisbone123’s customizing efforts.
The fruits of this designer’s labor are pictured above. The revamped Jordans feature orange paint instead of red along with a few matching details. It is clear that the designer did not reinvent the wheel with these customs. The end result is a color change with little fanfare but without technical errors that stop many designers from success.
I think that chrisbone123 needs to move ahead with more daring projects if he wants to get the attention of fickle sneaker fans who are looking for the next big thing. These shoes are great for a personal customizing project but they aren’t impressive enough to garner a second look when there thousands of custom sneakers available online.
