This Nike SB is a collaboration with Fly and Triumvir. Fly is a skate store in China and Triumvir belongs to the company called Cali. Fly and Cali chose to work on the “Beijing” Dunk Mid. Nike SB was the third arm in this project involving all three companies.
The shoe took inspiration from Beijing’s favourite landmarks and icons like the Tienanmen Square, dust, traffic, highways and noodles. This Dunk Mid is the first Nike shoe to be named after Beijing. The grey tones were meant to reflect Beijing’s high towers and highways. The black midsection uses special premium tumbled leather.
The toe box is black and has small perforations. The surrounding mudguard is white and has double stitching for its details. The white shoe lace coordinates with the white mudguard. The shoe lace holes are on a border of patterned leather. The shoe has a black collar and a thin red border around the ankle. The heel segment is made of the grey patterned leather and extends upwards to give a shoe strap. This strap has the Nike SB logo at its tip. The Nike swoosh is black and outlined in orange. The midsole is grey while the outsole is black. This is a good looking shoe to woo the Beijing market for Nike.
Gravis makes some noise with four new colorways of the Gravis Viking model - two high and two low. The orange-red hightop pictured above features a nice combination of tonal colors in suede and perforated leather. These shoes feature a cushioned footbed and Poron Shock absorption for ultimate comfort. The abrasion resistant outsole offers high traction. The other Hi is a brown and black colorway with purple laces and accents.
For the low editions, Gravis offers a brown leather and suede upper with orange and blue details, and a more subtle colorway in all black. The lows are priced at $74.99, while the high tops are $89.99 at CSS. Via Sneaker News.

This Nike Blazer Hi Premium was inspired by Major Taylor, a cyclist. This model is sold at Proper.
The shoe upper is all black but the leathers used are different in differing segments. The toe box has smooth, black leather. The tongue is in black meshed material. The tag at the tip is a striking orange color, with “Nike” in yellow font. The midsection of the shoe is in a different quality of leather as the “lines” of the leather can be seen. The shoe lace holes are done in a long line of white colored leather border that stretched up to the ankle collar of the shoe. The dark green shoe lace looks nice against the white lacing frame and black shoe upper. There is a Nike swoosh in white leather that complements the white border of the shoe lace frame.
The midsole looks to be made of black colored gum. The outsole is dark green, with a pattern of dense, even treads. The inner lining is dark colored and keeps to the theme of making this sneaker a dark colored one. The white and green accents look good against the black shoe upper.
This December, DC Life will release their holiday pack which takes inspiration from the British punk rock scene of the 80s. The pack includes three models - Admiral, Gatsby and Volcano - all dressed up in black premium leather with touches of red plaid.
The high top Admiral keeps the use of the plaid to a minimum, mainly in the lining of the shoes, while the other two models use the red plaid a bit more.
These kicks are set to hit DC boutiques next month. If you are a fan of the scene, grab a pair. Via Complex.
