Reebok’s Pump collection started back in 1989, and yes, to commemorate 20 years, they came up with a very striking rendition this time around. If you are wondering how it all began, or if you were too young or perhaps not yet around when the Pump fever started, well just a bit of info, The Reebok Pump was initially designed as a high top basketball shoe. It was rather pricey in contrast with other athletic footwear at that time, so it became a big hit, as having a Pump pair was some sort of a status symbol.
To celebrate 20 years, the newest addition to the Pump line comes with a special dog tag marked with the number 20, very striking colorways of neon/black/red, which by the way, is also the same colorways the grandfather Pump was made of.

The Ex-O-Fit Hi Strap – a retro-looking pair, is a design co-authored by Mita and Reebok. Definitely a child of the 80’s look with the show-stopping black and white top with a insole white fur lining, that goes out as a piping down to accentuate the heels. What makes it even more striking is the 2 Velcro straps – a wide one at the bottom, slightly covering the lace up system, where as the other one works as an ankle strap, with pink lining that runs across. This pair was released on December 23rd at Mita.

According to this giftedly patient and skillful artist, she needs more or less 40 hours to create each sneakers. Aside from the actual weaving of course, the artist has to carefully come up with a plastic pattern to hold everything in place. Well, given the material, I’m sure that you know that it’s only good to serve as a decoration at home. Still looks great, if you ask me!
