Vans x HUF - Sk8 Hi Satin
You don’t often see satin used in these type of shoes, but Keith Huf (Hufnagel) announced recently their latest collaboration with Vans on a set of four satin Sk8 His.
The four colorways are blue, red, silver and black, each with a contrasting stripe color. Though there aren’t many details yet about these shoes, they are expect to release soon.

Each of the shoes in this pack has a color scheme of white and bluish gray. The Sk8-Hi LX is the classiest of the shoes. The Era LX is a bit more laidback, but the ultimate laidback shoe in this collection is the Slip-On LX.

Supreme x Vans Half Cabs & Chukkas
Supreme and Vans have worked together before to create some very nice looking shoes. Here is another collaboration that features two versions of two different styles. While the basic look of the shoes is relatively simple, the colors give each pair their own personality.
In the pictures, the yellow and black shoes are the Half Cabs. The red and blue are the Chukkas. The Half Cabs tend to be a bit more stylish, while the Chukkas are comfortable and laidback. The exact release date isn’t known, but expect these kicks to hit the market relatively soon. Once they are released, expect them to fly off the shelves! Via Hypebeast.

Vans “Paisley Bandanna” Classic Slip On
This new series from Vans dubbed “Paisley Bandanna” features three Classic Slip On’s in a cool paisley pattern. These shoes come in three traditional bandanna colors - red, blue and black.
This paisley pattern has Persian origins and symbolizes the Indian bodhi tree (mango tree). The red ones are a little too “cherry” for my taste, but the black or blue versions wouldn’t be that bad if you wore them with neutral colored clothing.
These are available right now at Flauge for 6,090 Yen (which only about $61 USD). Via Eightys Fresh.

Vans Vault Jungle Pack
The all new Jungle embrodiery series from Vans includes Chukka 49s as well as Authentic LXs. These shoes feature thick floral embroidery and the use of mismatched laces.
I wasn’t a big fan of the wild florals at first. But after looking at it a while, it looks pretty sweet against the black background. Mind you, these are still not my cup of tea but I can see how someone else might like them. I do like how they used the bright blue and green laces for some dramatic contrast. These shoes are now available at select Vans Vault dealers.

Vans Chukka LX
Another Vans Chukka has been released. This one has a different look compared to previous versions.
The Vans Chukka LX is a good looking casual shoe with some style. The woven knit black and grey uppers remind you of a winter sweater. The front of the shoe is black suede, which is contrasted by the stark white midsole and laces.

Vans & Johnny Ramones collection.

This collection is available at DigBMX and Vans. It consists of 2 T-shirts, a pair of jeans and 1 pair of Classic Slip-On shoes. One T-shirt has a photo print of Johnny at a concert. The other T-shirt has The Ramone presidential seal.
Johnny Ramone was actually John William Cummings. He lived from Oct. 8, 1948 – Sept. 15, 2004. He was a great guitarist and played mainly rhythm. In 2003, he was named as the 16th greatest guitarist in history, by the Rolling Stone magazine. On Sept. 15, 2004, he passed away after a 5 year fight with prostate cancer.
The Slip-On sneaker looks good. It has his photo scanned and printed on the shoe’s toe box. His pose showed his dedication to his music as he put his concentrated efforts into his guitar playing. Johnny’s signature does personalize this shoe to some extent. The right shoe’s inner sole has Johnny’s presidential seal while the left shoe ha Van’s logo. This is meant to show the historical collaboration between Vans and Johnny Ramone. Along the mid-sole, Johnny Ramone’s name is printed along the side.
I like this casual sneaker. It is so relaxed and provides the right mood for the casual footwear.
There is a photo of Johnny Ramone after the line breaker.

The Vans Syndicate Pack in Plaid

There is a bit of nostalgia these days for the heady days of grunge rock and attire in the 1990s. It seemed loathsome and cliched by the beginning of the 21st century to wear plaid, listen to Seattle-based rock and live the grunge lifestyle. Time is kind to fashion and plaid has made a comeback in a different medium. Vans with the help of Pendleton Wool Mills will put out the Syndicate pack in wool beginning in February 2008.
As a refresher, the Vans Syndicate pack features Sk8-Hi, the Half Cab and the Old Skools. The pattern on the outside of the shoe features a simple plaid pattern in gray, blue and red to provide a subtle statement for sneaker fans. I like the trend toward plaid on shoes because it is far less abrasive than the army of plaid-wearing rock fans I used to see in the 1990s. While plaid shirts defined an identity for fans of Nirvana, plaid shoes are functional and stylish without an overtly political or social message.
The price of this three pack of Vans skate sneakers will be relatively high due to the use of high quality wool but it will be well worth it if you are looking to keep up with the trends.

Vans Sk8-Hi “Flauge”
Vans has collaborated with Japanese boutique shop Flauge to bring back one of their classics - the Sk8-Hi Check.
This pack features several Sk8-Hi’s in a variety of colors. The toe and front of each shoe is black. However each features a different color checked pattern on the sides of the uppers. They also have a black and white checked pattern on the outer sole. I really love the use of white contrast stitching against the black.
These shoes are only 8,925 yen (around $79 USD) and are available exclusive at Flauge.

Vans Syndicate Holiday Collection 2007

The Vans Syndicate Holiday 2007 Collection consists of Mr. Cartoon Sk8 Hi, the Gusset Half Cabs and the newest Vans and W)Taps collaborations.
Mr. Cartoon Sk8 Hi has the all black shoe upper. The material is premium suede and canvas. The toe box is suede. The rest of the shoe is canvas. There is a pattern of repeated red devil faces on the canvas panel of the shoe. Letting the devil loose during the holiday season helps to create a festive mood.
The Vans and W)Taps retain their traditional design of having a black colored toe box. The side panels of the shoe are in one color and the graphic is printed on the color. This Holiday 2007 collection has released 2 new colorways; the blue and brown-cream. These colors are duller and might be in tune with the cooler autumn season.
The Gusset Half Cabs look small because of the rounded toe box design. People with large feet can use these to induce the look of smaller feet. Of the 3 different colored pairs, I like the chocolate colored pair the best. The brown colors are nice. The light brown/beige pair is quite striking while the all black pair is a bit dull.
