Knoll Textiles – Vans Mountain Edition Hi

Vans is teaming up with innovative textile and upholstery design Knoll for an interesting Mountain Edition Hi pack that will be available next year – 2010 by March or April.

The new Vans Mountain Edition Hi comes in a very nice shimmering waxy material that feels like a vinyl.  It comes in a very nice purple color.  The sneaker is monotone. It has a brown leather on the side panel where the “Vans” word is spelled out with its logo. It also has a white midsole and a black lining the Upper and midsole of the  shoe serving as an accent.  The sneaker comes with black shoe laces that make it look good.

Robert Crumb x Vans Pack

Van is making a part to celebrate the renowned Robert Crumb, well known comic book artist, with its new pack of sneaker design that features its most iconic characters.

Crumb started as a comic artist in San Francisco in the 70’s. Today, the Vans pack includes a sneaker that would make his iconic figures become well known to all. The sneaker pack will carry Fritz, the cat he created along with a sk8 Hi Deconstruct bearing his mystic Mr. Natural character. Part of the pack includes a blue Authentic piece chequered with the Truckin’ work that made him famous. These designs will be exclusive  to Vans account. Check them out this month. Keep posted!

HUF x Vans old Skool Pack

vans-huf-red-upper-1Vans has once again made a pack with HUF creating a must have sneakers. Presenting, the triple treat Old Skool sneakers that you will surely love. 

These anticipated sneakers will come out this October. We are expecting that these new babies will sell like hotcakes! 

They are presented with monotone in color black, red, and blue suede leather upper. They have a very clean and nicely designed stitches design in their midsole. It has a white square patch in the tongue and has the logo name of “Vans.”

The shoe laces are with the same color of the upper. So, if you have red, your shoe laces are also red. At the bottom of the shoe laces, there is a small rectangular tag of HUF.

A Preview: Vans Feat. Jahan Loh “Mountain Mid”

Vans once again utilized the Mountain Mid platform for another collaboration with Jahan Loh.  Featuring a black and purple colorway, a Vans skull image on the tongue, and snakeskin straps located in the midfoot area, which I think is redundant with the leather laces in place.  I also thought the laces should have been in another contrasting color instead of the black laces they used here.  Thankfully, the white stitching following the shoes outline provided the much-needed ontrast to this collection.

There is no definite timetable for its release but expect it to be soon.

Vans once again teamed up with a talented artist. Robert Williams, popular pop provocateur and talented artist, produced a very artistic Van sneaker after teaming up with VANS sneakers. His VAN sneaker design carries the talent he is famous for – hot rod art, comics and abstract paintings.

The sneaker is a chukka boot 64 LX with a checkerboard pattern of white and red. It carries Robert Williams’s comic panels, which forms a beautiful artistic creation.

I personally love the design because it projects an artistic individual. The sneaker’s design itself carries its own personality, which makes it a head turner!

Vans x Supreme Fall/Winter 2009 Collection

Apparently, checkered is in. These bright and colorful Vans collection from Supreme will be released for their Fall/ Winter collection. Dubbed  as the Half Cab and Old Skool collections, both sneakers come in same set of colors: black/red, red/red, and yellow red colorways. The Half cab features suede/canvas uppers and leather insoles while the Old Skool features suede uppers and also, leather insoles. Both collections also sit on white sole.

US release date is set on October 8 while international release is October 10th.

Vans Holiday 2009 Peacoat Pack

In all things sneakers, sometimes the simplest designs get more attention. I have seen enough in the last few days and I could say that the ones I would go for would be those designs that are straightforward, understated and un-complicated. Oh, I do appreciate a little bit of technology for more comfort and ease.

As Vans releases its Holiday 2009 collection, I cannot help but feel nostalgic when I saw the lineup.  The navy and white colorway just screams classic and both the Chukka Boot 69 and the Era 59 are looking irresistibly solid. Both have suede uppers, with vulcanized construction and a classic waffle grip.

It retails from $70.
