New Balance Factory Plaid Collection
December 7, 2007

New Balance has designed a new collection of shoes using plaids. It was named the Factory Plaid Collection. This plaid design paid tribute to the traditional plaids that were worn in New England, in New Balance’s recent sneaker and shoe collections.
This collection of Factory Plaid has three different colors of plaid. The New Balance’s domestic factories’ names were emblazoned on the lateral tip of the shoe. This name is also screen printed on the insert. The gold/ black colorway has “Norridgewock.â€Â I like the plaid designs. They are unique from the others. The toe box and front panel are in black. I know that fans of plaid would love these shoes. The bottom most sole has the plaid design too.
Of all the three pairs of plaid designs, the purple/ black plaid has lesser black weave in its plaid. The black color appears mute and submerged by the purple. This purple plaid features the New Balance factory named “Skowhegan.†The bottom most sole also has the plaid print.
The navy/ black colorway honors “Lawrence.†This shoe is slightly different from the gold and purple pairs because its bottom sole does not have the plaid print. The bottom sole is blue and black in color instead.
Each pair of plaid comes packaged in a white box with its corresponding plaid swatch on the lid of the box.  One pair sells for $150. The Factory Plaids are available at New Balance.

They should have not put the factory name on the shoe. It looks awful.
