Sole.Lusions customized a pair of Nike Dunks with a Hello Kitty theme for an acquaintance recently. The designer used bright colors to reflect the whimsy and fun of the Hello Kitty brand. I found the Hello Kitty Seaside City Nike Dunks at the Sole.Lusions Customsnkr.com blog linked here.
The middle panel, heel tag and toe box are painted solid pink while the toe and heel wrap are lighter pink. The parade of pink hues is cut apart by the aqua blue Nike swoosh that represents the ocean. Sole.Lusions added purple laces to the Hello Kitty Seaside City Nike Dunks as an exclamation point.
We see the Hello Kitty mascot on the heel in a grass skirt and hanging out as a mermaid on the toe box. The mixture of Hello Kitty imagery and soft colors work well together on the Hello Kitty Seaside City Nike Dunks. While the Hello Kitty logo has been used on plenty of custom sneakers, I like how Sole.Lusions was able to bring something new to this popular brand.
