The Low End Theory Dunks
October 8, 2008
Designer i.MK posted the Low End Theory Dunks at the Nike Talk thread linked here. He noted that these customs were a rush order for a client who needed some fresh shoes for the Dunk XChange starting on October 5th in New York City. These shoes are themed after A Tribe Called Quest’s 1991 album “The Low End Theory.”
i.MK replicated the green/red colorway used on the album cover for the stripes and lettering throughout the shoe. The designer used neon green laces to give these Nike Dunks an extra bit of flavor separate from “The Low End Theory” theme. i.MK used gold for the Nike swoosh to give these Dunks an expensive look for those unfortunate few who cannot see the high value of these shoes.
The Low End Theory Dunks may have been created in a hurry but they look great. If you are looking for small smudges and inexact marks on the lettering, you better look someplace else. These Dunks may have been overlooked at the Dunk XChange but the owner will cherish them for years to come.
