The brain trust at Nike has decided to re-release some of the brand’s classic running shoes in 2008. The Nike Bermuda is now available at select stores including Solebox in a variety of colors. The gray/white colorway with a bright green swoosh is shown above because it stands out from other colorways available for the Bermuda.
The aesthetics of the Nike Bermuda may put off some sneaker fans who look for sneakers that are flawless. The Nike Bermuda looks a bit like an ugly duckling compared to today’s technical running shoes. The outsole may look discolored compared to the bright white color of new models. The combination of green, gray and white on the Bermudas may not seem like a great colorway for casual sneaker fans.
Nike is smart to re-release shoes like the Nike Bermuda because sneaker fans love retro. This shoe was favored in the early 1980s by long-distance runners looking to protect their feet. I doubt you will see many Nike Bermudas on race tracks but I can guarantee you will see plenty at malls, colleges and parties throughout the world in 2008.
