The limited quantities of the original Paris Dunk High have created a mythology about the suede-and-canvas shoes that honor French art. The one-time run of 202 Paris Dunks were unique because each shoe featured a different design. tM Customs has unveiled its own homage to the Paris Dunk High that blends the classical look of the original shoe with modern touches favored by today’s sneaker fans.
tM Customs added clean and classic graphics that look like they were taken from the pages of a French comic book. The right shoe features an image of a woman walking down the street while taking off her glasses. The left shoe shows the same woman viewing a painting on an easel. These images are rendered in fantastic detail by tM Customs to replicate the feeling of the original Dunks without looking like a cheap facsimile.
The 21st century touches added to the Paris Dunk Highs are evident when looking at the shoe laces. tM Customs added a lace lock with the word “Paris” along with matching metal ends for the laces. These metallic accents break up the cutesy look of the Dunk Highs without standing out like a sore thumb.
tM Customs sells the Paris Dunk Highs in kids (6, 6.5, 7) and women’s (7.5, 8, 8.5) sizes through the website linked here. Readers can contact the designer through the website for additional information and questions about men’s sizes in the Paris Dunk High.
