Phantom Mirage Air Max 90s from Phu!

phantommirage1.jpg

The SBTG/Phu! feud continues today with my look at the Phantom Mirage Air Max 90s. Phu! created eight custom sneakers that will be pitted against SBTG’s Air Force Ones on March 30 in New York City. I covered SBTG’s customs in yesterday’s post but Phu! has won the Death from Above battle in my mind.

Both designers used World War II fighters as their motivation. SBTG’s Air Force Ones are left in the dust by the modern interpretation taken by Phu!. The Phantom Mirage has a snarling white mouth with green acid oozing outward from the toe box. The P77 stamp applied to SBTG’s customs is enhanced by Phu! who encases the stamp in green bombs.

Phu! has priced his eight Phantom Mirages at $550 USD to make the battle in NYC a fair fight on March 30. I think that Phu! will sell out more quickly than SBTG. The only thing I know is that I am jealous of the people who will get a pair of great customs despite the designer. Check out information on the Death from Above battle here.
