These Air Force 1 shoes were designed on NikeID by member of Say It Loud from Brooklyn, Octavia Overmuller. The purpose of this creation was to celebrate the achievements made by African Americans within various communities.
The inspiration and design of the sneakers was the reason they were chosen to be mass produced and sold in a few stores on a much larger scale for $150 as of June 23rd, 2007. A portion of all the sales will go to Say It Loud.
When I first saw these kicks, there was a slight discomfort to my eyes, but it seems over time they have grown on me. It could be due to the bold colors, the gold, the patent leather, or maybe something I just can’t put into words. Before I forget; all pictures, info, and credit goes to SlamHype.
