Sole Junkie was tasked with celebrating the Xbox franchise as he created the Xbox Alpha Nike Dunks. The designer went beyond bright green hues and excellent craftsmanship with the flashing Xbox logo on the heel. I found these photos at the Sole Junkie Customsnkr.com blog linked here.
The designer refers to the toe as “tiger camouflage” including lime green to match the video game system’s primary color. The top of the heel is colored lime green as well to stand apart from the solid black heel, middle panel and toe box. Sole Junkie transitioned from green to black on the Nike swoosh, showing his ability to blend simple and dynamic elements on the same sneaker.
I am sure that readers are curious about the flashing Xbox logo on the heel. Sole Junkie used fiber optic wiring within the shoe to connect a switch and battery in the tongue to the heel light. The owner of this unique sneaker can switch from strobe to constant lighting with a flick of the control button. The Xbox Alpha Nike Dunks may have been one-of-a-kind but you can contact Sole Junkie at solejunkiecustoms@yahoo.com for your own design.
