Common Projects Spring 2008

I came across the latest shoes dropped by Common Projects while reading through Sneaker Freaker. This New York City-based shoe company combines classica designs with high-end materials to reimagine the casual shoe market. The two models pictured around this post are symbolic of the brand’s simple style.

I love the mid-top sneakers posted above because they have a clean look that is difficult to find in the shoe market. Common Projects has gold lettering on the insole but leaves branding to the Nikes, Reeboks and New Balances of the world. The fact that I don’t like all-white shoes is balanced out with 100% leather that would be tough to find in comparable shoes.

Common Projects provides a list of retailers throughout the world at its website. I posted yesterday about the Rod Laver Tournament Editions by Adidas that share similar characteristics to models by Common Projects. The Rod Lavers offer one step away from branded sneakers while Common Projects adds a few steps toward simple shoes that speak for themselves.
