If your like me… you’ve probably never heard of this sneaker brand: “Troop”. It is a company that released their signature sneakers some time ago, but the rumor is they didn’t do too well on their first release. This NYC based company recently showed face again at a recent fashion showcase, and impressed quite a few of shoe loves; myself included. There are a few pictures below for you to look at, but the ones above really stand out to me.
As I have mentioned in the past, I always seem to be attracted to kicks that have black/light blue on them. What also stands out to me about these sneaks seen above is that they remind me of the S. Carter’s that were released by Reebok some years ago. I honestly want to know what everyone thinks about these kicks, so please take 15 seconds and leave your comments; good or bad. Enjoy!

I bought a pair of Troop “Regency” sneakers back in 88-89. I can’t remember meeting so many girls cuz I rocked those. They thought I was wearing Gucci sneakers.

Correction – Troop did extremely WELL on their first release. It was five or six years into the project that a rival company started rumours about the brand being associated with the KKK ultimately leading to its downfall amongst its core customer base.
The author clearly knows nothing…. Troop were huge in the 80’s, everyone in the hip hop world wore them. The 2 guys that run Troop had to quit early because of those rumours, but they quit as millionaires.
those sneakers are hot but lets get back to basic i wanna know when is this company gonna release some of there ol skool joints from back in da day.

yeah, i always wanted a pair of troop shoes. but back in 87′ 75 bucks was alot of money.
by the time i finally got a pair, they were out of style and i refused to wear them. (my mom got a pair at a flea market, and grownups don’t seem to know when stuff is out of style)

This line will never take off. They tried in 2003 and they’re trying again. Only difference is they’re tryna do a new school flair this time where as a couple yrs ago it was all their 80’s classics reissued! I picked up a bunch of Ice Lambs and Cobras but noone else dug em…

I got my first pair of Troop in the 80’s, had to order them especially from NY, and my boy got a customized tracksuit too. It was the hottest thing you could wear on the street in the UK. So rare and now they should bring them back with a vengeance. Good luck support the Troop and the old skool. Stand out and be different along with your shell toes. All love. K
These new style TROOPS are garbage!!! Troop, you guys stick with the original formula. Re-release the old skool’s best sellers then release the new skool style kicks. If you need some marketing consultation, im for hire but I dont come cheap!!!!
yo the old school troops were dope im really surprised to find them on the market again i live in upstate new york and back in 88 only a couple spots up here had them they looked great but they were made cheap and fell apart.

Yo, Troops was the sh*t back in the day. The Black/light blue look very similar to the originals. Lotto and diDadora were some tight kicks too, but Troops was my favorite. I wondered what happened to them cats.
Troop and SPX smoked any other brand back then. They set the standard.
i remember a shoe called “jump” that were popular when troop was out. they looked quite similar with the word “jump” in the arrow just like troop.
