Air Jordan V (5) Sample – Wht/Blk/Varsity Red

 air-jordan-5-retro-white-black-varsity-red

These Air Jordan 5 sample were produced as a potential Spring ‘09 release, but for whatever reason, they were never released. Air Jordan 5 Sample sports a White/Black/Varsity Red color scheme which could have been an instant hit. The red outline around the “shark’s tooth” section of the midsole and the embroidered eyeball graphic on the side of the upper were inspired by the military designed Grey Nurse version of the AJF 5. Sadly, there’s no confirmation if these will be released at all. Well, at least check out some pics of what could have been after the jump and who knows the AJF geniuses might just consider releasing them soon. Via Kenlu.

Air Jordan Flight 45 GS – White Pink Blue

I think this Flight 45 has to much white, and not enough color. The pink really doesnt fit the design but im sure some of you feel different about these . This Flight 45 is made exclusively in grade school sizes. It features a white leather and patent leather upper accented by a pink inner lining, blue speckled mid-sole, pink stiching, a blue out-sole, and a yellow Jumpman on the tongue. Overall, this sneaker yields a bright and fresh colorway. No release info yet but keep a look out in the near future.

Air Jordan I Retro Velcro

Air Jordan I Retro Velcro - #1

Here’s a unique release – this Air Jordan 1 Low with Velcro straps. Though Velcro sneakers should be reserved for grade school, this shoe does have a nice colorway.

If you are into the ease of Velcro shoes, you should be able to find these in the classic Chicago Bulls colorway at your local Jordan retailer; Millennium Shoes has them now. These are set for release on Sept 27th at $100. Via Hypebeast.

Air Jordan Wine and Grind

Air Jordan Wine and Grind - #1

Air Jordan has collaborated with International Tournament Quai 54 to create two shoes – Wine and Grind. Only a limited number of these shoes will be released – believed to be less than 400 pairs in total. The release date is set to be July 4th and the shoes will only be available in Paris, France.

Drawing on France’s love for wine and the many wineries in the country, the Wine shoe uses a wine/burgundy based color scheme. There are also gold accents used in throughout shoe. The Grind shoes offer a sturdier look, and still has some interesting details. To accentuate the shoe, the Grind kicks also have streaks of purple. Via Hypebeast and LAMJC.

Air Jordan Dentro

Air Jordan Dentro - #1

If you love to play basketball indoors, this is the shoe for you. New this year is the Air Jordan Dentro, which was specificially designed for use on indoor basketball courts. If you are getting out of the heat this summer and ballin’ indoors, these sneakers are a good choice.

Several colorways are now available at most major Jordan Brand retailers. You can get them online at Finishline.

The Air Jordan Dentro uses combination of different leathers for an aesthetic appeal, while keep up the quality of Jordan shoes you might expect. They are composed of carbon fiber, which makes them lightweight. And they have a breathable mesh lining.

My personal favorite is the white over black version pictured above, but there are several other colorways that you might like. Via Kick On Fire.

Custom Air Jordan XX3s: Bronze

xx3.jpg

The skill, grace and brute power of Michael Jordan have inspired thousands of custom sneakers over the years. Orravan Design is taking America’s love of Number 23 to another level with a pair of bronze-clad Air Jordan XX3s.

The interplay of bronze and silver was taken from Orravan’s bronze statue of Jordan. The designer did a fantastic job of maintaining the austerity and life-like representation of Jordan from the statue to the custom XX3s. I like the idea of a sneaker fan taking off from the free-throw line wearing a pair of Air Jordans that look like they weigh a ton.

Additional pictures of the Bronze Air Jordan XX3s along with the original statue can be found at the Orravan Design MySpace page linked here.

Custom Air Jordan Retro III Flips

heltorskeltor.jpg

The Air Jordan Retro III Flip shown above feature small modifications from the original basketball shoe. The designer added touches of color to the gray/black/white colorway without ruining the original design. I think the subtle red paint used throughout these Air Jordan Retro III Flips look as if they should have been added during production.

The addition of red paint to the “Air” lettering on the heel, the eyelets and the Jump Man on the tongue may not seem too difficult to sneaker fans. It takes some effort to apply the paint without overlap on the shoe. It takes equal patience to stay true to the original sneaker without adding red lines, symbols and shapes on abundant white spaces.

You can check out heel and side views of these custom Air Jordans after the post. These Retro III Flips may not live up to the designer’s Helter Skelter billing but they maintain the integrity of a classic shoe.
