Project C4 Nike Dunks

Chris Hui and imag4ever collaborated in the past on a design project called Project C4. This project featured a set of custom Nike Dunk Lows that showcased the considerable talents of both designers. C2 Customs and imag4ever have returned with the second edition of Project C4 involving two pairs of Nike Dunk Highs.

This first entry in the revived Project C4 is a Nike Dunk High with a toe box and middle panel made from crocodile leather. Chris Hui reconceived the C4 logo so that the top part of the logo looks like the fuse on a stick of dynamite. I enjoy the mixture of camo prints, red leather and black and think that this collaboration will continue to impress sneaker fans in the future.

Fans of C2 Customs, image4ever and the Project C4 Dunks can check out additional information on these sneakers by checking out their recent Nike Talk post linked here.

Sandstorm Air Force Ones

Chris Hui from C2 Customs is back at it again with a new pair of custom Air Force Ones. These sneakers are called the Sandstorms and represent the desert colors worn by soldiers in the Middle East. Hui has used his experience with past camo customs as well as close direction from his clients to create another fantastic pair of customs.

Hui used the familiar tan, green and brown color worn by soldiers in Iraq as the primary color used throughout these Air Force Ones. The middle panel as well as the toe box are matched with the color used on the interior lining of this shoe. I think that the Sandstorms are fantastic testaments to the colors worn by soldiers fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.

These pictures were found at the C2 Customs website linked here. Readers can head to the website to check out additional pictures of the Sandstorm Air Forces and look at shoes available in the C2 Customs shop.

Custom Air Max 90s for Milwaukee Brewers Reliever

C2 Customs has been busy over the last few months outfitting members of the Milwaukee Brewers with custom sneakers. Chris Hui’s latest client is Brewers reliever David Riske who got a simple pair of Air Max 90s inspired by the Brewers jersey colors. Riske was one of the team’s big acquisitions in the offseason and a friend of new pitcher CC Sabathia. These shoes are understated and would look good during warmups and bullpen work.

These Air Max 90s use the blue/gold colorway of the team’s standard uniform. Riske’s number 54 is added to the left outside heel using the same font as the Brewers logo. The classic M that is painted on the Miller Park mound each home game is replicated on the right heel to show Riske’s pride in the Brewers.

Additional photos of David Riske’s Air Max 90s are available at the C2 Customs website linked here.

C2 Customs Presents Bamboozled Air Max 90s

bamboozled1.jpg

The custom Air Max 90s shown in this post are offered by C2 Customs under the name Bamboozled. The black/red colorway offers a simple but stylish look for sneaker fans tired of overly complex shoes. These unique shoes are available in size nine from the C2 Customs website.

The major feature of the Bamboozled Air Max 90s is a bamboo pattern that runs from one side of the toe box to the other. This pattern features black bamboo stalks that are differentiated from the original black paint with a faded red background.

The distressed details on each bamboo stalk is impressive considering the amount of work needed to complete this effect. A more impressive feat on these custom Nikes is the control exhibited by the designer when it came to the bamboo theme. The temptation to paint bamboo stalks all over these shoes and add extraneous elements cannot be found in the final product.

C2 Custom Nike Dunk Lows

tgjr.jpg

I highlighted Chris Hui’s custom Air Max 90s designed specifically for Brewers first basemen Prince Fielder last week. The designer behind C2 Customs is helping more Brewers get ready for a great 2008 season with his distinctive vision for shoes. Hui’s latest project is a pair of Nike Dunk Lows for Brewers outfielder Tony Gwynn Jr.

These Nike Dunk Lows feature a simple gray/black background with small red/white spots layered throughout the shoe. Hui didn’t overreach when creating the essential design for this up-and-coming player. Tony Gwynn Jr. may not be as prolific a hitter as his dad but these shoes would highlight his speed in a simple foot race.

I am hoping that Chris Hui uses his Milwaukee-area connections to outfit the rest of the Brewers. The hot designs used for Prince Fielder and Tony Gwynn Jr. could spread to teammates J.J. Hardy, Ryan Braun and Corey Hart. Keep an eye out on the C2 Customs website to see if other Brew Crew players get custom shoes.
