Black Soldier 3.0 Customs

In Champate’s third incarnation of the Black Soldier SBs, the prolific designer has shown his love of simple designs and craftsmanship. The Black Soldier 3.0 SBs will be released through Champate’s website on November 7th, 2008. Champate is making six pairs of the custom Nikes available between sizes 10 and 12 at a sticker price of $329.

These photos of the Black Soldier 3.0 were found at the Nike Talk post linked here. You can see Champate’s unique blend of design elements by checking out the photo above. Champate added his own logo to the front zipper as well as the tongue to brand his unique artistic vision. He also uses a black/gray leaf design beneath the gray Nike swoosh in the middle panel to break up the monotony.

The signature element of the Black Soldier 3.0s is the use of a zipper on the right shoe. The left shoe features standard white laces while the right shoe mixes black side laces with a silver zipper. If you want to get these shoes, you will need to sign up for the Champate newsletter at newsletter@pats83.com for details on the upcoming presale. While I probably won’t get my hands on these shoes, I think they show some of Champate’s finest work.

Tigar Style 2.0 Dunks

Champate’s upcoming release of the Tigar Style 2.0 Dunks will bring a lucky few into the proverbial wilderness. The designer will have a presale for ten pairs of these custom Dunks on November 5, 2008 through his website. You can check out more details on Champate’s Nike Talk post linked here.

Champate started with a black/blue colorway including a blue swoosh that stands out against the heel design. The namesake design of the Tigar Style 2.0s is the fierce jungle cat portrayed on the back panel. Instead of using the traditional yellows and oranges of wild cats, Champate added blue shadows and black stripes to match the rest of the shoe.

While the tiger on the back panel may seem harmless, you can see the killer look in its cool blue eyes. Champate framed the heel design with deceptively simple black panels that make the tiger pop out against a white background. The Tigar Style 2.0 Dunks will run $249 per pair in men’s sizes 6.5 through 10 so don’t wait until the last minute to make your purchase.

Birthday Air Force Ones by Champate

Champate has taken the birthday-themed custom sneaker to a whole new level with his latest pair of Air Force Ones. We see plenty of birthday customs at MyAirShoes but these sneakers are impressive. The Birthday Air Force Ones were commissioned through Champate’s website linked here by a sneaker fan with a love for the blue/yellow colorway.

The designer took some liberties with the birthday theme to make these Air Force Ones special. The middle panel features the word “birthday” in dozens of languages printed in yellow paint. Champate added the words “happy birthday” on the edges of the toe boxes in colorful lettering. He also used musical notes and symbols running from the toe box to the heel to simulate singing the birthday song.

Champate’s World Domination Tour rolls on with the Birthday Air Force Ones. These sneakers may not fit the typical profile for the designer’s work but it shows his ability to switch tones quickly. The addition of “birthday” in foreign languages and the visual representation of the birthday song set these customs apart from the competition.
