The latest collection from sneaker company Greedy Genius is designed by Hue Vo and was dubbed DYNO. This vulcanized shoe features an adequately padded tongue and royal blue canvas and full grain leather materials for the upper, with just the right amount of metallic patent leather trim to accentuate the overall look.  The white eyelets for the laces make a nice contrast to the colorway.fThe

The Dyno will be launched initially in Europe for its Spring 2010 collection. As to when it will be released in the US, where to buy it and how much, come by anytime soon for these details and more updates!

Greedy Genius Ocean Runner – Big Blue

Greedy Genius has created another colorway as part of the Ocean Runner Collection, the “Big Blue”. This particular model is composed of an overall blue nu-buck leather upper with full grain leather piping. Other features include padded tongue, padded reinforced back heel support, blue midsole and grey shoe lace. This latest colorway is expected to drop this year’s fall/holiday season.

Greedy Genius x Yone

Legendary Japanese photographer Yone (Yasumasa Yonehara) and the American icon Greedy Genius have invented another new blend of colors for their Cool Breeze sneaker series. A suede/perforated leather upper with Yone’s photography worked into the panels is the hallmark of this great design. It is successful, stylish, yet at the samwe exciting, and really creative. We have always loved our genius friends, and their greed just keeps inspiring them to create new and better works of art that will reach deep into the hearts (and pockets) of sneaker lovers.

A great design, and superb style characterize the beauty and power of this excellent creation. The significant achievement of the designers is a great work that will keep inspiring artists for many more years. But above else, this just shows us all that greed can lead to creativity after all.

Here is the second sneak peak to the Greedy Genius Ocean Runner. There have been blazers, kicks, shoes, sneakers, and boots and many others, but we’re sure that you’ve never come across anything like the Greedy Genius Ocean Runner. The stylish, clean, and pretty design of the pair is made for conquest and victory, and the solid form is created for perfection and might.

The Greedy Genius has shown his powers to us several times in the past, but this time he has exceeded himself with this incredible feat of achievement which simply shocks the stars and galaxies, aliens and humans included, into a universal orgy of bewilderment and mania.

Greedy Genius – S$B NYC – Secret Sneaker Bombing New York City

The Sneaker bomb phenomenon is continuing unabated. As usual the artists/geniuses behind this exciting act of creativity are unknown, but their sign of audacity is hanging from all kinds of tall structures in NYC.

The Greedy Genius guys seem determined to hypnotize us into getting rid of our excess funds  in return for the wonderful designs that they offer. Needless to say, there is a lot more than just a couple of shoes hanging here and there behind the sneaker bombs: it is more about a rebellion against convention, against commonplace, and againt the widespread complacency in our lives. And in any case, the bombshells dropped by Greedy Genius can speak for themselves with the havoc they threaten to wreak on the mediocre ones of the sneaker scene.

Greedy Genius Sneaker Bomb in LA

There appears to be a strange new phenomenon in the city of angels nowadays, with stylish shoes created by Greedy Genius hanging from wires, poles and similar high-reaching structures where you wouldn’t expect any shoe-wearing human being to dwell. Perhaps the angels sometimes choose to wear the Greedy Genius brand over everything else in the scene, maybe it’s just the Green Goblin playing a trick on us helpless mortals, or perhaps it’s just the UFOs who want to catch a comfortable pair of these beautiful shoes, who are then hindered by the wires as they attempt to depart.

Well, we cannot claim to know the truth behind this really unusual situation, but isn’t it just another reason to have a pair of the Greedy Genius brand? You can just let your creativity have full freedom, and amaze and surprise your friends and strangers alike with the new ideas you can find for this new game. But whatever you do, if you catch those behind the fad, do tell us, we want to interview them!

Finders Keepers, Losers Weepers GNS Primos

The latest sneakers by YoaKustoms draw on the toy designs of Joe Ledbetter (or JLED). Ledbetter’s Finders Keepers miniature figures are pictured at this website and YoaKustoms used these toys as inspiration for his custom Greedy Genius Primos. I found photos of the Finders Keepers, Losers Weepers GNS Primos at the Customsnkr.com blog linked here.

You can see the wildly colorful JLED toy used as the designer’s muse in the picture above. The toy has a black background that features a set of smaller Finders Keepers creatures dancing around and causing mischief. The designer took this theme to the next level by populating the toe box, middle panel and heel with dozens of characters. If you look at the photos below, you will see that YoaKustoms broke down the natural barriers of the sneakers to recreate these creatures. For example, the blue creature on the tongue is completed on the collar instead of cramming the figure into a single space.

The designer went as far as creating matching insoles in red and blue with Finders Keepers monsters on the heels to complete his design. Joe Ledbetter’s creations are interesting, well-crafted and get in your face with bursts of color. YoaKustoms was equal to the task of recreating the Finders Keepers toys on his latest custom GNS Primos.

Greedy Genius/Finish Line Four Pack

Greedy Genius is working with renowned retailer Finish Line to put out a new four-pack of custom sneakers. The Greedy Genius/Finish Line Four Pack features two Cool Breezes, one Apache and a GG Sk8-Lo. This set of hot customs will be available through Finish Line this spring. You can keep up with the progress of the Greedy Genius/Finish Line collaboration at the designer’s website here.

Greedy Genius produced a white and a black Cool Breeze for this pack. The white Cool Breeze is called the Patriotika and the black version is the Noir. The Patriotika has a white snakeskin toe and red and white piping, matching simplicity with luxuriant style. The Noir has a black patent leather upper and red and yellow piping to stand apart from the Patriotika.

The Apache is a Court Classic that is decked out with old-school Jordan colors to appeal to Finish Line’s clientele. You can see the three sneakers mentioned earlier after this post. The final member of the Greedy Genius/Finish Line pack is a GG Sk8-Lo called the Mid-ike with an elephant-skin pattern. Greedy Genius is hitting to all fields in this collaboration with Finish Line and I cannot wait to see the response from online sneaker fans.
