My post yesterday explored the darker side of Alejandro Giraldo’s work at the Colombiamoda design fair. The Air Force Ones posted above showcase Alejandro’s ability to blend lighter colors with stark images in the span of a single shoe. These sneakers are dubbed Hold on There! due to the octopus that unifies the left and right shoes.

Alejandro broke down a major design barrier by creating an octopus that spans both shoes. The left shoe features the head of the octopus glaring at the viewer through beady yellow eyes. The wearer can touch the heels of both shoes to find that the octopus reaches well into midsole of the right shoe. Alejandro shows the cruel nature of the sea by adding some dripping blood to the Nike swoosh.

This Colombian designer shows his love again for Nike by adding the words “Just Do It” in white across the blue front panel. These photos were found at Alejandro’s Flickr page linked here. Readers can contact alejandrogiraldo1@gmail.com to ask the designer about his influences and availablity for custom projects.
