LeBron James was crowned the MVP of the 2008-2009 NBA regular season, so of course he had to create a shoe to honor the occasion. And as soon as they arrived they were gone selling out in minutes. Many collectors were irate when they had learned the MVP Edition had sold out on the Nike Store without fair warning and created quite an up roar which apparently reached Nike headquaters. Nike will be giving all you disgruntled potiential buyers another opportunity to pick these up this weekend. The Nike Zoom LeBron VI will be releasing this Saturday May 30 at the House of Hoops in limited quanities and will most likely sell out immediately. A number of player exclusives have been released at the House of Hoops recently, and we thought that it would be a good idea to feature them here for you, as we discuss the new direction Nike will take after the fine achievements of the Jordan Brand.

These are mostly luxurious, stylish pairs, with exude a very fine sense of balance and power in the same beautiful form. They all feature special material, and exciting color schemes that reflect the steely determination of their owners.

First is David West’s Black/Purple sneaker, and then the Black
Mamba’s assistant, Paul Gasol’s White/Purple colorway.

Set to release ahead of normal weekend releases, The Akron Zoom VI made its debuted the night of the Slam Dunk Contest. The shoe pays homage to LeBron’s hometown of Akron Ohio. The navy blue, gold and white color way represents the University of Akron and the city itself as well. The navy blue upper is covered in sentimental images such as the street he grew up on. Nike Foamposite One “Dark Army” – HOH Exclusive

We bring to you yet ANOTHER House of Hoops exclusive that released on Saturday August 30th at their Harlem location. Continuing the trend, they decided to release another classic basketball shoe. The Foamposite One was chosen for this joyous occasion. The upper is black, like most of the shoe. Dark Army was used mainly on the translucent sole but can also been seen elsewhere.

A limited edition colorway of the Nike Flightposite will release in the Nike House of Hoops, the place where limited sneakers can be found. The colorway features a predominantly black base and a purple sole. Only 72 pairs of the said shoes will be released so prices will surely go through the roof.

Nike Dunk Hoops Dunkin Go Nuts

With all the hype surrounding the Nike Marty McFly Hypedunks, a pair of sneakers has released without the public’s knowing. These are the Nike Dunk Hoops Dunkin Go Nuts. The shoes, which features a predominantly brown body and donut crinkles on the strap, take inspiration from kids’ favorite donut store, Dunkin Donuts. The heel looks like a chocolate shell about to crack. The interplay of earthy and bright colors surprisingly creates a harmonies feel to the shoes. The Dunkin Go Nuts are still available at the Harlem House of Hoops.

Zoom Lebron II- Re-release?

Several well-informed members of NikeTalk have confirmed that Nike is planning on re-releasing Player Edition colorways of the Zoom Lebron II. Lebron fans will surely be ecstatic about the retro since this is one of the best shoes among the Lebron line. The colorways scheduled to drop are the Saint Vincent-Saint Mary Away, Saint Vincent-Saint Mary Home, Dunkman and the Hardwood Classic.

These exclusive player editions will release in extremely limited quantities (36 pairs per colorway) in the House of Hoops. A Cleveland release is also not of the question.

However, Nike is known to rescind releases of exclusive Lebron shoes without prior notice. Let’s just pray that we get a chance, albeit a small one, to cop these.
