Kevin Durant has to be in the top 5 when you think about the MVPs this season. He is becoming a tremendous athlete and that means more sneakers from Nike, which is always a good thing. Here we see a Nike KD2 Player Exclusive that was worn by Kevin Durant last night against the Sacramento Kings. Durants box score included 39 points and 10 rebounds, which is not big for Durants game. The shoe comes in the Oklahoma City Thunder team colors. The shoe is Kevin Durants own signature model, so he’s no stranger to this sneaker. The Nike KD1

I conducted a little experiment this morning.  I asked my grandsons, if money was not an issue, what pair of shoes they would buy right now.  The thirteen year old, without hesitation, choose the Nike KD1.  He said he liked the style of the shoe, and that “everyone” was getting them.  To me, that is probably the best endorsement possible!

The Nike KD1’s developer, Kevin Durant, has designed a sleek shoe that conforms around the foot like a custom made glove would fit a hand.  The shoe’s graphics are reflective of  KD’s spirit and dedication.  There are symbols of a post stamp and a security badge to emulate the occupations of his mom and dad.  The stretch panel around the lateral malleolus allows for the upper to conform around the ankle bone.  The need for tongue foam is eliminated by a thick open mesh. The rubber sole and the forefoot ZOOM AIR unit helps to give plush performance and smooth control.  The vibrant colors of black, orange and blue completes the package.

A shoe with superior styling and flashy eye appeal makes it winner.

2009 All-Star Weekend – Rookie Challenge Shoes

2009 All-Star Weekend - Rookie Challenge Shoes - #1

Check out these kicks that were worn during the Rookie Challenge that had NBA rookies going up against NBA sophomores on Friday night. Although Kevin Durant’s MVP performance that included 46 points stole the show, many sneakerheads probably loved the kicks that they saw.

Most of the players in the game who are signed with Nike wore a Nike Huarache 2009. For the rookies, Huarache utilized an orange and purple colorway and said “Rookies” on it. The sophomores’ Huarache’s were similar added white to the equation and the shoes said “sophomores”. With many more events upcoming in the 2009 NBA All-Star Weekend, keep an eye on the kicks. Nike KD1 – Black-Team Orange-Photo Blue – Kevin Durant

Nike KD1 - Kevin Durant - #1

This Nike KD1 utilizes black, orange and blue in a combination of materials such as patent and suede to create a shoe that is sure to turn a few heads. If you are a fan of Kevin Durant, you can get your hands on these shoes at Shoe-Planet.

Perhaps the first thing that stands out when you take a look at these kicks is the sharp Nike swoosh in orange against the pitch black background. The bright shade of blue on the outsole also brightens up these sneakers as well. Intricate details also stand out, such as the yellow and orange arched stitching on the side of the shoe and the KD logo in the carbon fiber insert near the ankle. Via Sneaker News.

Nike Blue Chip – Kevin Durant – OKC Thunder PE

Kevin Durant has already been pushed into the limelight as a potential candidate to be Nike’s next big signature athlete, after signing a deal with the Swoosh last year, Durant put up big numbers while playing for a sub-par Seattle Supersonics team. A year later the team has moved from Seattle to Oklahoma City, changed it’s name from the Supersonics to the Thunder, and drastically changed it’s colors. It seems Nike wasted little time in getting the new colors of the jersey from the Thunder as they already have KD wearing his next shoe the Blue Chip in an Oklahoma City Thunder colorway while playing in a preseason game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
