I am a big fan of boat shoes for a casual summer look, especially when they are done in interesting colors and textures. Italian company Luca has teamed up Soar to creat this version of the boat shoe in a bright yellow ostrich skin.

The shoe has a Chukka-liike appeal and is definitely different. If you are looking for a summer shoe that will turn some heads, this one is a good choice. This Soar x Luca collaboration is available exclusively to Zozo retailer Lighca. You can pre-order right now for ¥19,740 yen (about $183 USD). The new Greedy Genius Yurple is a part of their upcoming Greedy Beach release. The Apache Yurple features a 3M reflective tongue and detail, nu-buck upper with perforated napa leather side panels and piping. The bottom features a clear lime green outer sole with “King Of Sneakers” logo detail on the bottom.

The color combination of this shoe is definitely interesting. The blue/purple is a little too dark for the rest of the shoe. It might have looked better in a brighter purple. However, I’m sure these shoes will have many fans. If you like Greedy Genius sneakers, look for these in upcoming weeks. Via Greedy Genius

As part of their Greedy Beach summer collection, Greedy Genius will be releasing the Phantom “Jewelz.” This black sneaker features colorful details including a jewel print on the inner lining, napa leather, a nubuck outsole and purple 3M accents.

The JEWELZ shoe was designed to hide the jewelz by printing them on the inside of the shoe. Facing a global slowdown in the economy we suggest tucking in jewelry this summer.

I really like the use of purple in this shoe, particularly the laces and heel tab. Look for more details about these on the Greedy Genius website.

Timberland Footwear Summer 08

Timberland has released their summer 2008 footwear line and some styles include a boat shoe, a slip-on and a chukka. The Cruisemaster II is the classic Timberland version of the boat shoe. This shoe features a full-grain leather upper and a rubber outsole.

The Switchfoot slip-on is an interesting looking shoe that combines leather and organic cotton canvas. I don’t like the appearance of this shoe at all, but some may find it comfortable and flexible.

For the eco-conscious, check out the Rippler Chukka, which features 30% recycled rubber in the outsole and 100% organic canvas. It’s deconstructed style makes it very lightweight and flexible. For versatility, they comes with two pairs of laces – one tonal leather and one colorful cotton.
